The Distinction
The Distinction is a luxury serviced apartment development by Damac, located within the Burj Khalifa district of Dubai. Landscape areas occur on the ground floor and 6th floor podium.
As an outdoor amenity area, the 6th floor podium comprises a pool deck, children’s play area and café. The layout and patterning used within the landscape design were generated by the elliptical shape of the tower, with radial paving bands superimposed with low curved planters as well as higher island planters. To inject some colour in to the brown / beige hardscape tones, a number of the island planters were rendered in bright orange.
On the raised pool deck, a large swimming pool is punctuated by palm planters and flanked by a children’s pool at one end and a jacuzzi at the other. An overflow edge to the outer perimeter of the pool frames views towards the Downtown area.
The ground floor landscape design includes a linear hardscape treatment with occasional blocks of planting, and small rectangular water features adjacent to the vehicular drop off area.
