Palace Retail Hotel
During the initial design phase, the Palace Retail Hotel was located within the retail district of the Dubai Creek Harbour. With its close proximity to the Dubai Creek Tower a driving factor in the layout and orientation of the exterior spaces, the design sought to maximise views whilst also dealing with a significant level change at the front of the site.
There are three main external zones associated with the Hotel:
Hotel Entrance – transitioning a 4m level difference, a strong sense of arrival is created by an avenue of date palms and vertical water features.
Ground Level – a pedestrian entry from the adjacent boulevard is signified by a reflective water feature and specimen olive tree, and is flanked by lounge and F&B terrace on either side.
Pool Deck – existing structural constraints required the pool to be raised, a condition that the design took advantage of by creating different levels that allow both overflow and freeboard pool edge conditions. There is also a separate children’s pool, a secluded area housing cabanas and a multipurpose space.
