The Outlet Village
Developed by Meraas, the Outlet Village is a Tuscan theme designed retail destination located adjacent to Dubai Parks & Resorts. With the landscape concept and schematic design done by US based Callison, South was appointed as the local landscape architect to undertake the Detail Design and Tender phases.
The premise of the main landscape frontage was to introduce the Tuscan theme within the local environment of the Arabian desert. Rows of cable planting are reminiscent of vineyards, which are located amongst gentle sand mounds and planting groups. Within the car park areas, trees provide shade and pedestrian walkways have inverted L shaped shade structures linked with cables to support vertical planting.
